A collaboration between Coraggio and Thomas Lavin debuted in London during London Design Week, with an exclusive preview at Thibaut’s Worlds End Studios on September 14. The launch introduced a luxury textile line inspired by the light and textures of Los Angeles, merging Lavin’s artistic vision with Coraggio’s technical expertise in fabric production.
A Night of Design and Discussion
The event opened with “Light and Weave: A Transatlantic Conversation”, a discussion between Lavin and Ruth Sleightholme, the style director of The World of Interiors. Their exchange set the foundation for the collection, which was displayed throughout the showroom while attendees examined the textiles up close.
Approximately 50 designers, industry experts, and partners gathered, including representatives from firms such as Henry Prideaux Interior Design, Dargie Lewis Designs, and BDA Greece. Executives from Thibaut, including Rick Kilmer and Andrea Eckberg, were also in attendance, alongside buyers from B&B Distribuzione and Sarah Harding Interiors.
Lavin called the debut “an incredibly moving moment” and credited the partnership with Coraggio and Thibaut for realizing the project. He said, “Seeing it installed so beautifully at the Coraggio showroom was an incredibly moving moment, and having the opportunity to discuss the collection with Ruth Sleightholme in front of our guests made the occasion all the more memorable. I’m deeply grateful to Rick Kilmer, Patricia Hoffman, and the Coraggio and Thibaut teams for their extraordinary support and for helping bring this vision to life.”
Design Philosophy and Market Positioning
The collection reflects Lavin’s focus on light and materiality, refined through Coraggio’s production capabilities. The event emphasized the partnership’s commitment to high-end, cross-continental design, with conversations exploring how the textiles could reshape modern interiors.
The textiles themselves emphasize texture and were displayed in a way that highlighted their interplay with light. The evening concluded with networking among designers, solidifying the collection’s standing within London’s design community.
Thibaut played a key role in ensuring the collection’s global reach, with Kilmer and Eckberg highlighting the brand’s distribution network and market expansion efforts.
No details were released about retail availability or production schedules. Instead, the focus remained on the immediate reception.
