Located in South Delhi, a private residence was designed for Nandita Bose and Keshav Kumar by architect Aishwarya Khurana of Studio Dor. The 1,500 sq ft home was envisioned for the couple and their two sons, with the goal of creating a space that would grow alongside their family.
The design features rich wooden tones throughout the home, complemented by elegant wallpapers that introduce texture and depth. These elements work together to create a cohesive material palette that reflects a quiet balance between warmth and sophistication.
In the living and dining spaces, a palette of warm wooden finishes establishes a cohesive and inviting atmosphere. Wallpapers from Kalakaari Haath add subtle pattern and texture, enriching the material composition without overpowering it. A bespoke partition housing a rotating television gently delineates the two spaces.
The private spaces are tailored to the routines and personalities of their occupants, balancing functionality with a warm material palette. In the master bedroom, layers of wood are complemented by a tropical wallpaper and a suspended pendant light, which introduces a soft sculptural element.
The kids’ bedroom features a custom bunk bed that transforms the room into a playful retreat, with steps on one side and a slide on the other. A thoughtfully designed storage unit keeps toys organised yet easily accessible. The guest bedroom doubles as a work-from-home space, demonstrating the home’s emphasis on adaptability.
Project Navya finds its identity in material richness, meticulous detailing, and spaces that respond intuitively to everyday life. The home reflects Studio Dor’s approach to residential design, creating interiors that are timeless, deeply personal, and crafted to be lived in for years to come.
As the family continues to grow, the home is designed to evolve with them. With its emphasis on warmth, sophistication, and adaptability, Project Navya shows the power of thoughtful design in creating a space that truly feels like home. The home’s design is a result of the collaboration between the clients and Studio Dor, and it reflects the clients’ personal style and preferences. This collaboration resulted in a home that is deeply personal and reflective of the family’s needs and tastes.
